Buffalo Alternative High School was a high school located in Buffalo, New York, USA. It generally housed students from Grades 7 - 12.

History Edit

Buffalo Alternative was created to house students who were at risk of dropping out, teenage parents, disruptive and/or chronically suspended in their traditional schools. The main campus was at 280 Oak Street (formerly the home to Boys Vocational High School), although several satellite sites were established in instances of overcrowding. The school's facilities were lacking due to budgetary reasons, and the school was finally closed in 2004. Academy School 131 now serves as the alternative program in Buffalo. Currently, the Oak Street campus serves as a combination of office space and apartments for the City of Buffalo.
